Received a message from Donna about dipper activity at the Hersey St. Bridge nest box.
”There’s a dipper family at Hersey Street Bridge! Late yesterday I watched an unbanded dipper just upstream from the bridge. It stayed on one rock for close to an hour with a small amount of preening. A second dipper flew by it, downstream under the bridge. I went to the park side and looked at the nest. ….. An unbanded dipper flew from under the bridge and was foraging right near the bridge opening…..Early this morning an unbanded dipper was foraging above and below the bridge, sometimes for food, and also for nesting materials … so it seemed to me. I watched it take the nesting material to the box and poke about with it. As I watched from both the N and S sides of Hersey….”
