I walked the upper part of the Ashland Creek path yesterday (1/16) and saw only one dipper altho lots of droppings almost all the way. Heard vigorous singing just north of the big tank and found a dipper standing in the water on a small falls. It was not bobbing, just singing enthusiastically…. perhaps one of the pair Linda and Peter saw the day before. It looked like a male advertising his territory. Be great to watch what happens – possible nest sites close by are bridge 1 and the big culvert above the reservoir where we watched the first pair way back in 2010.
